KATIBASTHI - Back Massage

KatiBasti is a specialized, restorative Ayurvedic treatment designed to address chronic issues in the lower back and spine. The term 'Kati' refers to the low back/waist, and 'Basti' means a container or dam.

The treatment begins with the patient lying prone (face down). A ring or reservoir is meticulously created on the lower back over the lumbo sacral area using a soft, thick dough made from black gram flour. Once sealed, a continuous pool of warm, medicated herbal oil (custom-selected for your condition) is gently poured into the dam and retained for a specific period. This allows the therapeutic properties of the oil to penetrate deeply into the muscles, nerves, ligaments and bones.

It provides deep, long lasting relief from chronic lower back pain, reduces muscle stiffness and strengthens the lumbar spine.
