PADABHYANGA - Foot Massage
Padabhyanga, derived from 'Pada' (foot) and 'Abhyanga' (oil massage), is a traditional and highly revered Ayurvedic therapeutic treatment focused on the feet, ankles and lower legs. This deeply soothing ritual involves the skilled application of warm, medicated herbal oil, carefully chosen to balance your Doshas.
The massage employs specific, rhythmic hand movements and techniques to stimulate the vital energy centres (Marma points) present in the feet. Since the feet are believed to house numerous nerve endings connected to the internal organs and systems, stimulating these points effectively calms the nervous system and re harmonizes the body's energy flow (Prana). Often performed with a specialized small bronze bowl (Kasa) for a unique detoxifying and balancing effect.
It improves blood circulation. It relieves fatigue and muscle cramps.
